Event Details

On March 26th, 2010, from 4 PM to 7 PM, in the Circle Room at the Anacortes Library, csiri.org will sponsor a surprise birthday bash for Clara Bowe, longtime resident and 15 year volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Anacortes Senior Center then located in the downstairs of city hall. The event will be held in her honor, whether she wishes to attend or not, and will include an introduction to the native flute, both how to carve and how to play cedar flutes. All donations are tax-deductible and support local domestic violence intervention.

See csiri.org for updates on this event as the time grows closer. Meanwhile, csiri.org has over 60 books online at lulu.com/anuradhe, and many videos on youtube.com/anuradhe, including a calendar for 2010 featuring local craftspeople who have created the Anacortes & Fidalgo Model Railroad Project right next door to Clara's house, where the annual open house provided CSIRI.ORG Director Andi Bowe, Clara's daughter, with the opportunity to video and photograph their tremendous amount of work on this miniature train exhibit that includes a working model of the movable train bridge over the channel that is the gateway to Fidalgo Island. There are also books on native flutecarving by the presenter of this introductory workshop experience, and books on quantum physics, the medusa effect, and Design by TEAMS as a new paradigm, as well as numerous photo journeys through the San Juan Islands and neighboring mountains.
